Outdoor Banner Request
The purpose of outdoor banners is to build school spirit and emphasize tradition by providing a greater opportunity to advertise events and programs to reach the University community. Campus-wide events and programs are defined as any activity that provides one or more of the following opportunities and is open to the entire University community: educational, social, recreational, and/or cultural.

Guidelines
- Outdoor banner space is available to campus organizations, academic, and auxiliary departments on a first come, first served basis. Banners are to advertise campus-wide events and programs only; priority given to events held in the Elliott University Center. Groups may request banner space one semester prior to the event/program date. Banners are for advertising single events and programs that are open to the University community.
- Banners shall be made of canvas or permanent banner cloth. Please request outdoor banner material when ordering the banner.
- Banner space may be reserved in blocks of one (1) week (Monday – Friday). Banners may hang for a maximum of two (2) weeks and will be removed by noon the first working day following the event.
- Banner Size: Minimum – 3.5 high by 12′ long /Maximum – 4′ high by 16 long’. Banners are to be horizontal and must have grommets or reinforced holes across the top of the banner. The banners will be hung only in specified locations on the banner tracks provided. Banners which do not meet the requirements will not be hung.
- Facilities Operations is responsible for putting up and taking down banners. Requests to hang banners must be made at least two weeks in advance in order to schedule staff form Facilities Operations. The Assistant Director for the EUC must initial the Banfin 59 prior to sending it to Facilities Operations to confirm the dates. The organization/department will be responsible for the costs to hang and take down the banner. Average cost to hang the banners is $35.00-$70.00. Banners should be delivered and picked up at the EUC Information Desk. Facilities Operations will remove the banners and leave them at Information Desk of Elliott University Center. Unclaimed banners will be disposed of after 7 business days.
- Any written material that is not in English must have an English translation adjacent and legible from a distance of 20 feet.
- Banners may not hang when the University is officially closed, except when the closing is due to acts of nature.
- Banners may not have decorations, ornamentation, or weighted objects attached to or hanging from them.
- An organization, academic or auxiliary department may have an indoor banner and an outdoor banner at the same time.
- The Elliott University Center Director or designated staff reserves the right to remove any banner that is considered inappropriate (unsuitable use of language and/or graphics) and any banner that does not follow the above banner policy guidelines.
